Insurance Survey

I have to say I do like the insurance company we have. I have not as of yet found any reason to dislike them. I know they want our money and would rather not have to pay money out but they have taken steps to actually aide the individual in their health walk. As part of this we will get a prompt to take a survey.... so I did. This was my response.

I looked but did not find an area where we could give you feedback on the survey. Since this is the only email address I found I figured I would direct my concerns and comments your way.
Purpose:
The results of the survey have listed a few strengths as well as challenges. In the challenges category I would like, if possible, further clarity on how you determined, based on the questions asked these would be challenges. For example, it has listed Leaders in Your Life and Reaching Your Goals as challenges for me, unless I am confused the scope of the questions was very narrow as far as the goals are concerned. If the questions asked are used to determine strength or challenge wouldn’t there need to be more depth? What sort of goals are you asking about- long or short term? Over what period of time? I would think specific detail would allow one to determine if ‘reaching goals’ is a challenge not ambiguity.  As for the Leaders in Your Life, I can be alright with this being classified as a challenge as long as it can be noted that my life is not lived to the standards of others. I am a unique individual, responsible for myself, my health, my actions, my reactions, and my responses. No amount of outside influence can actually do anything to “make” me work harder, longer, achieve goals and so on.
Social Well-being:
To continue with this category I understand this may be ‘just a gauge’ for insurance purposes but I would again like clarity on the process of determination. Specifically under this headline on the Managing Tough Moments. I do not recall any questions on tough moments. There may have been a few in the series of questions related to work, but I previously answered I do not work, at least not as it pertains to the line of questioning. For the series of work related questions I simply answered “Don’t Know” as Not Applicable was not an option. Don’t get me wrong, this was put under my name as a strength but I would like to know how you determined this.
Financial Well-Being:
As before, some clarity is what I ask for. My indicated challenges were “ Your Standard of Living” and “Long- Term Security.”Where did these come from? The questions I remember answering were not specific enough to truly gauge the long term security. I do not recall any questions of debt or money practices to indicate my specific or my household’s “challenge” with long-term security.  As to the standard of living, this one sort of.... bothers me. What exactly is a standard of living? How can it be quantified? There was a question that attempted to quantify it according to the people I am close to. In general, I take offense to this question- specifically “ compared to the people I spend time with I am satisfied with my standard of living.” What on earth do the people I associate with have to do with my standard of living or my satisfaction.  Am I to assume that I am expected to compare myself to others-financially or otherwise?
Community Well-being:
Under this category I had no strengths but several challenges. It is also classified as action critical. I do not understand the determinations from the questions asked. I am honestly not even certain how I can elaborate on this. I do know that we would eventually like to move into a bigger home, I am satisfied with where we are. Does it meet our needs? No, if it did we wouldn’t be interested in moving. As to the security, I must have misunderstood the line of questioning. I cannot recall exactly the question but safe and secure can be taken both; mentally, physically, and emotionally. Community Pride and Community Involvement- I do not recall many questions pertaining to this. I am heavily involved in our community through the church we attend. Our group does work for and with the local schools, homeless organizations, foster care services, outreach ministries, and individualized involvement on a smaller scale. There were no questions to be able to give you this information. I do recall a question about if I have been recognized or not… I have not and I should not. If recognition is indicative of community involvement and pride then I truly am concerned for the community based on the ‘recognition’ that is received.
Physical Well-Being:
This one is classified as Action Critical. My challenges are listed as “The Condition of Your Health,” “Taking Care of Your Health,” “Doing Your Daily Activities,” and “Your Daily Energy.” My only argument to these would be the narrow scope of the questions used to determine the results. I have Narcolepsy with Cataplexy, this has a HUGE impact on how my answers to the questions can be assessed. The condition of my health is less than ideal but so is and a person with an amputated limb…. Both of us being in the same boat where nothing can be done- it is life and you have to adjust accordingly. As far as taking care of my health, I regularly go to the doctor, and I keep my appointments, as I answered in the survey itself. I am uncertain how it was determined that I am challenged when it comes to this. For the daily activities and energy levels… well for you to understand what I deal with on a daily basis you would need to go without sleep for 72 hours. You may classify those as challenges for me but I must insist you are wrong, I blow those out of the water!
I hope my feedback found its way to the correct person and I would love to hear back saying that it was received. Hopefully as you move forward with your questionnaires you will come to understand that ‘normal’ and ‘standard’ does not exist and will therefor be able to be more detail oriented.

I do not know if this will be received and evaluated but I wanted someone to know what I thought.
