Forgive me for my absence. It has been interesting the last few weeks. I suppose I always viewed summer as a time to rest, relax, have fun, not do much. Yeah right!!! I have been so busy this summer with working and children and other people.... It's been hectic. I may not have gone to my sleep doctor every month the past few months but between the two kids and myself I would say its been one every other week. This most recent visit to a doctor though was... well... interesting. Let me back track several years and then bring you up to speed.
As a kid we didn't really go to the doctor, and when I say we didn't really go I literally mean it. If what ever sickness we had lasted more than 7-10 days we went. So I am not one to be in the habit of going to the doctor. I mean I gotta go to my sleep doc or I can't get any meds, so I have no choice there. When I get sick now I generally use the same rule, 7-10 days, yes even sometimes with my children...... I have aches and pains all the time. It's normal life for me these days so when my foot began bothering me I just dealt with it. After a while when it didn't go away- a while most likely being months- I talked to my husband about it and he said go to a doc. I didn't of course, giving some lame excuse about this that or the other. Surprise!!! Time kept moving and my foot didn't get better. I began tapping it and that helped for a time but overall the issue was still there. At some point I did go to a doctor- now I have issues with doctors, not because they scare me or are mean I just seem to see doctors who must have barely passed their classes in school- THIS trip was no different. I told the doctor about my foot and was told to see a chiropractor. The funny part about this is I told her it hurt when someone TOUCHED my foot and that I WAS ALREADY seeing a chiropractor...... Just kidding guys THIS IS NOT FUNNY AT ALL. IT'S SAD!!! I went home from this appointment and immediately told my husband 'I told you so.' Nothing more was done about this hurting foot. The problem with this is when you live with a pain and do nothing about it sometimes you start "feeling it go away" YEAH RIGHT you're really just becoming accustomed to the pain and therefore desensitized to it. YAY ME! I let it get so bad that I couldn't even walk barefooted because it hurt so bad. When I got my narco stuff semi under control and began my search for a primary care doctor I figured it was time to do something about the stupid foot.
Off to the podiatrist I went.... turns out I really am a dumby. The doc think I injured a ligament in my foot called the lisfranc ligaments. It's pretty important too and since I'm waited so long to get it taken care of..... I get to wear a boot for probably the next 3 months. NOT FUN!!
